Patient Information

Insurance

Workers’ Compensation

OSI works closely with many local companies to care for their employees with orthopedic injuries. Our goal for these employees is the same as for any patient — a safe and speedy return to normal activities, including work. If your treatment is the result of a work-related injury, please be sure to notify us at your first appointment so we can assist you with any insurance coverage or financial issues you may have.

    Insurance Coverage

OSI participates in most health care plans in the Kansas City area. If you are not sure whether we accept your insurance coverage, please feel free to contact our office before your first visit to make sure we accept your insurance carrier.

Please remember that we appreciate payment at the time of service. If you do not have insurance coverage, our staff will be happy to discuss payment options for your care. Whether you have insurance or not, it is ultimately your responsibility to be certain your medical bills are paid in full, and to discuss any financial concerns you have with us.

    Results & Refills

    Test Results

In order to determine your specific health care problem, your physician may order a variety of diagnostic tests. Routine tests, such as X-rays, may be performed in our office. However, your physician may order more complex tests, such as an MRI or CAT scan, to diagnose your problem. Area hospitals and free-standing diagnostic centers often perform these tests and bill separately for these services.

Test results are sent to your physician, who usually will discuss this information and a treatment plan with you at a follow-up office visit.

      Prescriptions

Requests for prescription refills are taken Monday through Thursday between the hours of 9 AM to 4 PM.  And Friday from 9 AM to 12 PM.  No prescription requests are taken after hours or on weekends/holidays.

It can take up to 2 business days to have your prescription refilled after you have called the office.

        Total Joint Classes

We recommend our patients who will be undergoing total joint replacements take the Total Joint Classes offered at the hospital where your surgery will be performed.
