Biography

Dr. Kyle Busch is a dedicated and accomplished medical professional specializing in sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. He earned a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine Degree from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where he also completed his Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences and Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science.

Dr. Busch is returning to Kansas City after completing a one year fellowship in Orthopedic Sports Medicine at the Orthopaedic Research of Virginia program located in Richmond, Virginia. While in Richmond, he served as team physician for several local high schools and took care of Division 1 athletes at Old Dominion University. He enjoys helping people return to activities and assisting them in obtaining greater function that increases their quality of life. His philosophy of care is centered around an appropriate balance of rehabilitation and conservative measures coupled with timely surgical intervention when indicated.

Throughout his career, Dr. Busch has actively contributed to research in his field, co-authoring several manuscripts and posters. His publications include stories on percutaneous anterior cruciate ligament repair, the anterolateral ligament, and femoral origin analysis. Dr. Busch’s commitment to excellence has been recognized with various awards and honors, such as the OITE Aware for achieving the highest exam score among his resident class and introduction into the Gold Humanism Honor Society for demonstrating outstanding interpersonal skills and dedication to service. 

In addition to his medical expertise, Dr. Busch has a passion for teaching and mentoring. He has served as an instructor and assistant professor at various educational institutions, including Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences, where he taught courses on lower extremity arthrology, clinical correlations, and histology. 

In his free time, Dr. Busch enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. He participates in outdoor activities such as traveling, fishing, and bike riding whenever possible. He is actively involved in professional organizations, having held leadership positions in the Resident American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics and the Student Government Association during his time at Kansas City University. Dr. Busch’s dedication to medical education and community service is evident through his involvement in programs like the Kansas City University Alumni Advising Panel and volunteering at various medical events and clinics.
