Biography

Erin Dickey NP-C came to Orthopedic Surgeons Inc. in 2021. She has over 11 years experience as a nurse practitioner, with 2 years being specific to orthopedic surgery. Erin completed her undergraduate degree from Rockhurst University, in Kansas City, Missouri and then went on to complete her Family Nurse Practitioner from Research College of Nursing in Kansas City, MO. Erin has a strong background in Emergency Medicine.

She has over 15 years experience working at a level 1 Trauma Center as well as providing care at a small rural critical access hospital. In 2018 Erin ventured out of emergency medicine and started pursuing her career in Orthopedics. Prior to coming to OSI Erin worked for another Orthopedic practice utilizing her emergency medicine background and helped open an Orthopedic Urgent Care. During that time she treated and evaluated patients, was a first assist in surgery, and also served as the office clinical manager.

Growing up, Erin was competitive in multiple different athletics. After high school Erin went on to pursue her athletic career at the collegiate level where she played one year of basketball and 4 years of softball. Erin believes that being a member of a team is what drove her into the medical field. “Medicine is one giant team, we all have the same goal, success for our patients.” Erin also believes her athletic career not only exposed her to multiple injuries but also placed her in various high stress situations which is what guided her interest specifically into orthopedics and emergency medicine.

Erin, her husband and two children live in a small rural town where they spend a lot of their free time working on their cattle farm and being outdoors. She also enjoys spending time with family, going to the lake, traveling, entertaining, and coaching youth sports.

Erin is certified as a nurse practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioner. She has experience in caring for a wide range of patients and injuries. Aside from assisting in surgery she is also certified to assess, diagnose, treat and evaluate all ages of patients.
