Biography

Dr. Brian Geraghty is a dedicated orthopedic surgeon currently serving as an Orthopedic Surgery Trauma Fellow at Duke University Hospital. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Research Medical Center and earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree, along with a Master of Arts in Biomedical Ethics, from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Pre-Professional Zoology from Northwest Missouri State University.

Dr. Geraghty’s interest in medicine, particularly orthopedic surgery, was sparked early in his academic journey. His commitment to the field is evident in his various roles, including serving as an Academic Advisor at Kansas City University, where he supports medical students pursuing careers in orthopedics. He is also a club advisor for the Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Club, organizing educational events and hands-on learning opportunities.

An active community member, Dr. Geraghty is involved in numerous service projects, such as mentoring through Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Kansas City and leading fundraising initiatives like Tailgate for a Cure. His leadership extends beyond the community to professional circles where he is a member of several prominent organizations, including the Orthopedic Trauma Association and the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics.

Dr. Geraghty is also a published researcher, contributing to the field with work on arthroscopic techniques and fracture management. He has presented his research at various national conferences and continues to explore innovative approaches to orthopedic care.

In his personal life, Dr. Geraghty enjoys spending time with his family and participating in community activities. He finds fulfillment in helping his patients achieve healthier, pain-free lives and is passionate about advancing the field of orthopedic surgery.
