Biography

Dr. Boin is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and one of the few fellowship-trained shoulder and elbow specialists in the Kansas City area.  He completed his fellowship at the prestigious NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was trained in the most innovative surgical techniques by world-renowned surgeons. He treats all conditions of the shoulder and elbow and has a special interest in sports medicine and treating athletes.  During his time in Ohio, he was a team physician for Division 1 athletes of Wright State University. He has published numerous articles in medical journals, written textbook chapters, and has won multiple awards for his research.  He has recently been named one of the top 5 surgeons in Kansas City and one of the top 3 orthopedic surgeons in the Northland.

Dr. Boin grew up in Osceola, MO where he graduated valedictorian and was an all-state athlete.  Directly out of high school he was admitted to UMKC School of Medicine.  After medical school he completed residency at Wright State University in Dayton, OH where he was trained in all aspects of orthopedic surgery.  He had excellent training in fracture care and sat on the trauma committee at a level 1 trauma center. During his residency, he achieved the top score in the nation on the orthopedic in-training examination taken annually by all orthopedic residents. 

In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family and travelling.  He loves staying active and working out in his garage gym. He is a fan of the Chiefs, Royals and Tigers.
